Objective : This study was to investigate the experiences of participating in the non-face-to-face program after COVID-19 for occupational therapists working at Dementia care centers, and a qualitative case study was used as the design of the study.
Methods : Five occupational therapists working at the Dementia care center were selected as study participants and in-depth interviews were conducted, and the experience of participating in the non-face-to-face program was analyzed based on the analysis in the qualitative study presented by Creswell.
Results : As a result of the analysis, 32 meaning units, 13 subcategories, and 4 core subjects were classified. The key topics were ¡®difficulty due to change in work¡¯, ¡®acceptance to real situations and development of non-face-to-face programs¡¯, ¡®improvement of ability to cope with unexpected situations¡¯, and ¡®prediction of situations after the end of COVID-19¡¯. Occupational therapists experienced trial and error in constructing a non-face-to-face program because it was difficult to predict the changing situation after face-to-face work restrictions began due to COVID-19. A non-face-to-face program that can be implemented realistically was developed and applied through an unprecedented effort.
Conclusion : Through the results of this study, it is expected that useful data will be provided to the Dementia care center and related workers who run non-face-to-face programs, and it will help them to work efficiently by predicting the post-COVID-19 situation in the future.
